Swinger Stories – The Best Thing to Happen to Our Marriage
I would hardly call myself a typical swinger or hotwife and if you told me 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago, I would be writing this I would think you’re crazy, but I thought I would share our journey into a lifestyle and community that has been one of the best things to happen to our marriage.
I’m a 46-year-old mom of three amazing kids. My husband and were high school sweethearts and besides a 2-year break during college have been together ever since. I was brought up thinking monogamy wasn’t just the best way to go about marriage but the only way to go about things. My husband was my first everything. My first date, kiss, sex, lust, and love. I’m an active member of two PTA classes, I’m a full-time mom, part-time bus driver (at least it feels that way with all the soccer games and ballet recitals), and a swinger.
Our sex life has always been good. Being together for over 20 years has its ups and downs but most of the time it’s been up. We would have sex a couple of times a week, but my libido was always a little higher than his. He understood that and embraced it actually. I have a pleasure chest of toys that I would use with him or without him.
A little over seven years ago something changed. A close friend of mine from college came to visit with her husband and we went out to dinner. After a few drinks, the two of them admitted they were swingers and were active members of the lifestyle. Without prying too much we both asked questions. I was a little intrigued but never figured we would go through with it. The idea of sex without your husband seemed so taboo to me, but I liked it. That night, my husband and I had mind-blowing sex. I remember feeling guilty after that because while I was having sea with him, I pictured somebody else. Anybody really. I admitted it afterward and instead of getting mad, he wanted to go for round two. Like I said, our sex life was good but not multiple rounds good.
At the time, I was 39. I didn’t exactly fit the mold of what I thought a swinger or hotwife looked like. Looking back now I was naive but I was a little insecure in how I would be perceived. After two years of fantasizing, dirty texts, and roleplaying my husband surprised me with a birthday trip to an adults-only resort that also had a reputation as a swinging resort.
Leading up to the trip I think we were both pretty nervous. We talked about rules and boundaries. Initially, we planned to just watch, but being able to connect with the couples online before the trip made some comfortable and excited by the idea of playing. The more we got to know the couples it evolved into “well, maybe we should go for it?”
When we arrived, the first thing I noticed was the cleanliness. The place was spotless. Everybody was so respectful and polite and overlooked the fact most of the guests were nude. It was liberating.
The atmosphere of the hotel made us feel welcomed and excited. We headed to the room to change and immediately went downstairs to explore. The resort was located on a secluded private beach and just off the water, there was a 24-hour play area. There were different levels of cabanas that were all mostly occupied with either couples or groups.
My husband and I started kissing on one of the cabanas next to a similar-aged couple. It was so erotic and before I knew what was hitting me I felt a warm hand on my back and it was the woman from the couple kissing next to us. I looked over at her and then my husband who looked at back me as if to tell me to go ahead.
I gave her the nod of approval and she touched me while her husband started to play with my hair while I kissed my husband. At that moment we decided to slow down a little bit with them and I started to give my husband head while they watched. She started touching herself while her husband watched. A few minutes we stopped and laughed and introduced ourselves.
Since then, my husband and I have been active members of the lifestyle and have learned much about ourselves. Our sex life has taken off and it’s made our marriage stronger than ever. In fact, we’ve even made friends who we see casually for dinners and our kids have had play dates before.
